The educational concept of "learning with head, heart and hand" is supported by our technical and commercial orientation of the school as well as by our modern and spacious facilities.

Our types of school:

Wirtschaftsgymnasium /Wirtschaftsoberschule

The 3-year Wirtschaftsgymnasium, business high school, is aimed at students who are highly motivated and who received good grades in the middle school. You can also change from the general University Prep high school to the Business High School. After three years of schooling, the general German university entrance qualification (German Abitur ) is acquired. The 2-year Wirschaftsoberschule, business high school, also leads to the general German university entrance qualification (German Abitur). This school is for people that have completed an apprenticeship or the Berufskolleg II, which is a school form where students acquire the Fachhochschulreife (entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences).

Berufskolleg
If you have a “Mittlere Reife” (General Certificate of Secondary Education) you can go to one of the different types of Berufskolleg. After two years students acquire a Fachhochschulereife (entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences) and the German state assistant title such as the assistant for technical sciences. Students can either start an attractive apprenticeship, attend a university of applied sciences or they can decide to go to the 2-year Wirtschaftsoberschule to get the general German university entrance qualification (German Abitur).

The so-called occupational entrance year (Berufseinstiegsjahr) offers secondary students from the Hauptschule (general-education secondary school level I, yrs 5-9) the chance to make a career choice in theory and practice. Besides that, they have the opportunity to improve their grades on their Hauptschule degree.

The so-called vocational training year (Berufsvorbereitungsjahr) is aimed at young people without a school leaving certificate that can be remedied in one year of schooling.

State-of-the-art equipment

After intensive renovations and extensions over the last three years we have friendly and modern classrooms and specialist rooms such as our metal workshop. In October 2003 and November 2006 two business training firms were able to start off with special funding from the program “Zukunftsoffensive III – Förderung der beruflichen Bildung”. By the end of their schooling students will have worked in all of the different departments of their business training firm. The business training firms simulate practically all of the commercial activities of a real firm for training and employability purposes.

New Media:
We offer the students a network of about 220 computers with modern and high-quality software in the areas of technology, communication and business. There are ten differently designed data processing rooms. Here you can find modern learning stations where students can develop team work skills. Also students learn to work by themselves in preparation for the demands of office work. During free periods or breaks students also have the possibility to work on the computers in the school lounge area.

Solid craftsmanship

In our metal workshop practically talented young people have the opportunity to professionalize their craft skills with metal processing modern machinery.
Students create their first metal projects on lathes, drilling and milling machines (including CNC-controlled ones), which qualifies them for their professional future. They also have the possibility to practice for their professional career in the area of food preparation. In addition to that, students have the opportunity to prepare themselves for careers in food preparation in our school kitchen.
